Japan’s Metoronori (Hikari Okuyama) has been described as bedroom pop, I think because her music has an intimacy that is often associated with folk or DIY rock music. Vocals are nearly whispered over electronic sounds that flicker in and out with no real concern for tradition or fidelity. It has a dream-like half-there sense to it which I love, like hearing the process of someone trying to remember a pop song.
